BSU 3 – UVU 5
The Broncos kicked off their first conference game in a unique fashion this year. Due to the heavy smoke in the Treasure Valley, the team was forced to transition indoors for their match against Utah Valley University. However, the change in venue didn’t deter them as they opened with an electric start. Ben Stoyanov netted the first goal, assisted by Jai Solis. Shortly after, UVU tied the score at 1-1. However, the Broncos pressed on, with Ben delivering a beautiful corner kick that was deflected out to Noah Suggs, who side-volleyed it to Nick Coldiron for a header, giving the Broncos a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately, things unraveled for the Broncos in the second half as they quickly fell behind, conceding three goals in quick succession, bringing the score to 2-5. Still, the Broncos showed their resilience. Ben Stoyanov struck again with an assist from Alex “Tex” Pierce, bringing the final score to 3-5. The Broncos now head into a demanding triple-header weekend with road games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, ready to rebound from this tough match.
